about lisa & postpartum care philosophy
Hi! My name is Lisa. I am a Michigan native, wife, mother of 3 magical girls, and passionate about serving women and mothers. I have had 3 very different pregnancies, 3 very different births, and 3 very different postpartum experiences.
I started, To You: Wellness and Postpartum Care, with a deep hope to serve mothers in their most transformative time of their lives: birth and postpartum. I serve women through walking them through what to expect with birth, what to expect in the postpartum time, and guide in how they can nourish mind, body, and spirit in what will be the season that will awaken unimaginable depths of love. I come alongside families and guide them in ways they can build their village, find new ways to stay resourced, and keep themselves nourished.
Contrary to the popular cultural belief that postpartum time is any from 3-6 weeks and then you’re done... the truth is that after a mother delivers a baby, they are postpartum, there is no timeline. The exogestation period is generally about 9 months after birth. How long you need to rest, restore, lean in, and have help, is entirely up to the motherbaby. This is your birth, and your postpartum time, no one else’s. Mothers need to be resourced, as they are doing the most important work of raising the next generation. Why is this not engrained in our culture? Why have we forgotten how to village? Let’s be the change.
My services will grow with me over time. I am an aspiring Naturopath and plan to gain training in many modalities such as reflexology, herbal studies, infant massage, and so much more than I can even list. I will never stop learning and I’ll never stop serving.
To You is my dedication to women. I offer myself to you women, in anyway I can serve.
